- Breast Cancers
- Childhood Cancers
- Lung Cancers
- Prostate Cancers
- Glioblastoma and other Brain Cancers
- Melanoma
- Colon Cancers
- Other Cancers
How we do it
Our primary goal is to improve the lives of patients and at-risk populations. But we also consider how innovations might impact other stakeholders.
Our efforts focus on these stakeholder groups:
Patients & Survivors
First and foremost, our focus is on patients and survivors. We’ve all be impacted by cancer personally and believe our biggest contribution comes from improving patient outcomes.
At Risk Populations
Helping at risk populations is one of the keys to reducing cancer incidence – by helping them to not become patients in the first place.
Health Pros & Caregivers
We support innovations that help those on the front line of cancer be more effective in providing effective diagnosis and treatment.
Payers & Policy Makers
We support innovations aimed at payers and policy makers that offer the potential to improve access to care and reduce its cost.
We invest in three categories of innovation with real potential to improve outcomes, increase access to care, and reduce the cost of care.
Therapies & Management
CANCER FUND invests in innovative new therapies and tools to help treat and manage cancer.
Diagnostics & Monitoring
We invest in new tools that can help diagnose cancer earlier and more accurately, and monitor it more effectively.
Preventions & Enabling Technologies
We invest in new solutions to help prevent cancer, or to help people better manage their risk.
We embrace transparency
You deserve to know where your cancer support dollars are going and how they are making an impact.
We know firsthand that giving to cancer charities is often a leap of faith since it’s hard to tell where your donation is used. CANCER FUND delivers transparency so you have clear visibility into where we invest.
Below are just a few of the things we do to keep you engaged and informed about our decisions and investments.

Annual Reporting on
Impact and Returns
We’ll keep you informed on our progress in terms of both impact and returns.
We invest in early-stage companies working to move cancer innovations from the research lab to patients.
When fully funded, CANCER FUND I, our first offering, plans to make an estimated 30-40 investments. We invest in the five earliest and highest risk stages of development, known as the “valley of death,” where a lack of funding leads to failure for most cancer innovations.
While plans are subject to change, our current investment plan allocates the number of investments and percent of capital for each stage as shown below.
A broad portfolio to mitigate risk
Our promise of helping innovation move Beyond Research is driven by a plan to grow our investor community and build our portfolio of investments. Sure, plans may change with time, new information, or different assumptions, but this is what our current plan looks like.
CANCER FUND’S investment Pipeline
With 50 years and over $120B in research funded by the National Cancer Institute alone, the field of innovations for us to fund is wide and deep. Our current investment pipeline includes nearly 200 companies seeking almost 2 billions dollars in investment capital. It continues to grow every day as we build relationships with innovators, institutions and industry partners around the world.

We get it. Donating to cancer causes is easy while investing seems complicated and risky. You might even lose all of your money . . . just like donating. With CANCER FUND, you invest to help cancer innovations reach patients and maybe earn a return on your money . . . not at all like donating.
