I missed my first opportunity to impact cancer. I hope you never have to feel the regret that I did.
After my father was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, I was introduced to a company working on a new therapy. They were looking for funding to help them move from the research lab to reach patients. I was one of many angel investors who declined. And they eventually shut down.
I often wonder if my investment may have made a difference for my dad. If that new therapy may have saved his life, or helped him live longer to share our lives together.
I regretted not taking the plunge to support that company. And I told myself that I wouldn’t stand by while life saving cancer innovations fail to find the support they need to reach patients. And save lives.

That’s why I created CANCER FUND.
Everyone told me that supporting cancer was ALL about donating to support cancer research, so after my father’s death, I gave money to the organizations that supported cancer research. I walked the walks, ran the runs, opened my checkbook to all the organizations that promised a better future for breast cancer patients. It felt like I was doing something important. And don’t get me wrong – support for research is really important.
But from my personal experience, I saw that one of the biggest challenges facing new cancer innovations wasn’t more research funding. It was moving BEYOND RESEARCH. Literally billions of dollars go into cancer research every year but the innovations that emerge still have a long path to travel before reaching patients to save lives. And most institutional research labs have no real plan to get their breakthroughs to patients. They do the research and leave that to innovators – scientists, doctors, and entrepreneurs. In the last year, we’ve identified over 150 early stage companies working on innovations in cancer space that rely on investor support to run the gauntlet of getting their developments to patients.
Research innovations need support to reach patients
Without investor support from people like you and me, those breakthrough lab innovations may stall out, and eventually, many end up collecting dust on a lab shelf.
Innovators need investors to bridge the “valley of death” – the long and expensive path between the lab and the patient. Supporting innovations early is a critical part of the process that we don’t see, yet many large investors avoid the early stages since the risk of failure is high. They would rather wait until the innovation is “de-risked” before they invest. But early investment is a critical part of moving innovations from the lab to end-users like doctors and patients like my dad.
CANCER FUND helps move innovations Beyond Research . . . from research labs to patients
CANCER FUND helps solve that early-stage challenge by giving people like you and me a way to invest in cancer innovators.
And we invite our investors to be an active part of the solution by helping to source companies, evaluate deals and take part in deciding what innovations we support.
If you want to part solving the cancer problem beyond just donating money, come learn more about CANCER FUND.

CANCER DONOR TURNED CANCER FUND INVESTOR
I felt helpless whenever another family member or friend had to deal with cancer so I donated to cancer charities to help but I didn’t see any direct, measurable impact. I invest in CANCER FUND because I can see exactly how my support funds innovations for colon, breast, and other cancers I care about. And I see real impact. I would love to chat with you about investing in CANCER FUND. Drop us your info so we can talk more.
We get it. Donating to cancer causes is easy while investing seems complicated and risky. You might even lose all of your money . . . just like donating. With CANCER FUND, you invest to help cancer innovations reach patients and maybe earn a return on your money . . . not at all like donating.
