SECTION 2: About Charitable Contributions and the CFC-DAF

Charitable contributions described on this website are received by independent 501(c)(3) donor-advised fund sponsors, including ImpactAssets, Inc. (EIN: 26-2048480). Charitable contributions are gifts to the applicable DAF sponsor and are not investments in Cancer Fund I, LLC.

The CANCER FUND Community Donor-Advised Fund (CFC-DAF) is a donor-advised fund account held at ImpactAssets, Inc., a public charity. ImpactAssets is the sponsoring organization and retains legal control over all assets contributed to the CFC-DAF. Contributions to the CFC-DAF are irrevocable gifts to ImpactAssets — contributors do not retain ownership of contributed funds.

HOW THE CFC-DAF WORKS:
When you make a contribution to the CFC-DAF, you are making a tax-deductible charitable gift to ImpactAssets. You may then recommend how ImpactAssets deploys those funds in support of cancer innovation. ImpactAssets retains legal discretion over all grants and investments — it is not obligated to follow donor recommendations, though it generally does when recommendations are consistent with its charitable purposes.

The CFC-DAF has a Donor Advisor whose role is to recommend how CFC-DAF assets are deployed. The Donor Advisor makes recommendations; ImpactAssets makes final decisions. Inquiries about the Donor Advisor role or governance should be directed to ImpactAssets at www.impactassets.org.

This structure means CANCER FUND Impact Investments® does not take custody of, control, or direct charitable contributions made through this site. The legal recipient is ImpactAssets, not CANCER FUND.

SECTION 3: Giving and Investing Are Separate Pathways

This website describes two distinct ways to support cancer innovation: charitable giving through the CFC-DAF, and investing in Cancer Fund I, LLC.

These are separate and independent pathways. Neither pathway conditions or implies the other. Making a charitable contribution to the CFC-DAF does not constitute an investment in Cancer Fund I, LLC, and does not give the contributor any ownership interest, profit participation, or other economic benefit from Cancer Fund I, LLC’s investment activity.

Investing in Cancer Fund I, LLC requires accredited investor status and is governed by the Fund’s offering documents. Charitable contributions to the CFC-DAF do not require accredited investor status and are governed by ImpactAssets’ donor-advised fund policies.

Some members of the CANCER FUND community do both. The pathways are independent — each stands on its own terms.

SECTION 4: Tax Considerations

Contributions to the CFC-DAF may be tax-deductible as charitable contributions to ImpactAssets, a 501(c)(3) public charity, subject to applicable IRS rules and limitations. The deductibility and amount of any deduction depends on your individual tax situation. Consult your own tax advisor regarding the tax treatment of any contribution.

Investments in Cancer Fund I, LLC are not charitable contributions and are not tax-deductible as such.

SECTION 5: Investment Risks

Investments in Cancer Fund I, LLC involve significant risk, including the risk of total loss of principal. Early-stage oncology companies face substantial scientific, regulatory, and commercial uncertainty. Past performance is not indicative of future results. Nothing on this website should be construed as investment advice or a guarantee of returns.

SECTION 6: Trademark

CANCER FUND Impact Investments® is a registered trademark of CXO Advisors & Management, LLC (USPTO Reg. No. 8,070,823, Supplemental Register).
