My Story
In 2014 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. Having spent my entire working career in clinical health care, I was surprised by how challenging the experience was. Hoping to make the journey a bit easier for others, I penned the book Holy Crap I Have Cancer! What to Expect When You Weren’t Expecting.
Probably like you, I wanted to support cancer patients. For years, I ran the runs, walked the walks, gala’d the galas and wrote checks. But it never felt like I was having the impact I wanted to have. I felt that there had to be a better way.
So, Now What? I co-founded CANCER FUND to have an even BIGGER IMPACT on those that will, unfortunately, follow in my footsteps.

What is CANCER FUND?
CANCER FUND is a investment firm where you can INVEST in early-stage companies moving breakthrough cancer research from the lab to patients. It’s an opportunity to support to an important cause – who hasn’t been touched by cancer? – in a unique way that can provide a return on your commitment.
We’ve identified over 30 startup companies working on the hard task of getting breast cancer innovations to patients. Without our support, those innovations stay in the lab and don’t save lives. And the journey from lab to patient doesn’t benefit from the support we provide to cancer research. It takes more.
